1950's KANEDA CORPORATION - History - 1950's

Both vegetable oil and petroleum were rationed during the controlled economy. As soon as the economic controls were lifted in 1950, Kaneda promptly started negotiations with Japan's leading oil and petroleum manufacturers such as Ajinomoto Co. Inc., Nisshin Seiyu, Nihon Suisan, Asahi Denka Co. Ltd. and Nippon Petrochemicals Co. Ltd., and became their distributor, thus setting the stage for the kind of company Kaneda is today.

Expanding from being a trader of oil, food and petroleum, in 1951, as part of a plan for company development, Kaneda began trading in the chemical market. After that, the variety of the products Kaneda trades keeps growing year by year, and today we have a very large list of customers not only in our original markets of food, paint, and ink, but also petroleum, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.

In 1952, the Bank of Japan rewarded the steadiness of Kaneda's business by certifying the bills it issues as being "eligible for double discount," a rare honor for a small business at the time. Kaneda has since then kept its record of achievement and credibility. Today Kaneda is one of the corporations on the Tankan Survey, a Short-term Economic Survey of Principal Enterprises in Japan, conducted by the Bank of Japan.
