As the company grew the number of employees increased, creating a need for additional office space. In 1980 Kaneda built its current headquarters at Asakusa-bashi, Taito-ku in Tokyo, a six-story building into which were rounded up all the departments that had been scattered in different buildings. This enabled all the employees in different departments to work under the same roof and made the working environment healthier and more efficient.
Kaneda was among the frontrunners in terms of information technology and office automation. In 1974, the accounting system was computerized, following the automation of the department of general affairs using micro-computers made by Fujitsu. A new computer system, KOSMOS, was put into operation in 1984. This greatly improved the management of sales and finance and later KOSMOS was put to a more sophisticated use to help create management strategy. In 2004, KOSMOS was consolidated to K-NAV, allowing it to increase its data processing capability exponentially.
